I think that when you marry a man with children from a previous marriage that it is a very nice gesture to include his kids in your wedding since you are officially becoming a family that day. It can be a small or big inclusion, but I think at least an acknowledgment is appropriate. Yes, it is your big day but starting off on the right foot with your new stepfamily is key for a happy life together. In my own wedding, I called my stepkids up to the altar during the ceremony and said a little speech to them. It was short and sweet but very meaningful. My husband also really appreciated it. And the crowd, forget it. They were all in tears! Take my word for it, and please give a little shout out to the little ones during your big day. It is a little gesture that goes a long way.
